Embark on an engaging journey into the heart of fire-making with our hands-on workshop suitable for anyone. Uncover the historical significance of fire, tracing its evolution from ancient practices to modern techniques.

Under the expert guidance of our wilderness guide, delve into the art of making fire using various methods. From traditional flint and steel to modern fire starters, explore the diverse ways cultures throughout history have ignited flames.

This immersive workshop invites every participant to become a fire-maker. Feel the thrill of creating sparks, witness the ignition, and experience the gratification of a successfully kindled flame.

In this workshop you collectively master the age-old skill of fire-making and the skillful way to use Finnish knife called 'puukko'. You will learn how to make fire lighter 'kiehinen' from wood and to try world's best firesteel 'tulukset'. Bonus you get to have the tulukset as a remembrance and you can maintain your new skill at home!

Available year round on Fridays at PM 3:00

The tour will take place if minimum 4 participants is met.

Start: Main entrance of Haltia. Address; Nuuksiontie 84, 02820 Espoo. The workshop will be held in a Kota (Finnish Teepee) near Haltia. Our guide will take you to the kota, if you arrive late please ask instructions from Haltia's info.

Includes: Wilderness guide, Teepee rental, all necessary equipment, firesteel

Difficulty: Easy

Dresscode: Wear clothing according to the weather conditions.

Fill your water bottle for free with the fresh and pure Finnish tap water. In Finland we have the cleanest and top quality tap water. Eco-frendly visitors fill their reuseable bottles instead of buying water in a plastic bottle.
